Ingeborg de Graaf

 

I am a hydrologist interested in regional- to continental scale groundwater systems, groundwater sustainability, groundwater lateral flows, groundwater-surface water interactions, and hyper-resolution hydrological modelling. I pursue my research interests by numerical modelling at the continental- to global scale and learn from trends and anomalies from the past to predict the future. I grew up in the Netherlands, got interested in ‘water’ and ‘system earth’, decided to study Hydrology at Wageningen University, did my PhD in Large-Scale Hydrology at Utrecht University, and went to Colorado School of Mines for a postdoc research on large-scale hyper-resolution hydrological modelling. After that I came to Freiburg and I am excited to be part of the new group of Environmental Hydrological Systems in Freiburg.

I am the course coordinator of the MSc course large scale datasets and modelling and the BSc course Forschungsmethoden Boden und Wasser. I am involved in the teaching of the MSc course Global Environmental Change. I currently have open MSc projects, please contact me for details.
